Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP)
Using Arthrex Vet Systems technology, we now offer a unique, cost effective treatment for osteoarthritis and various orthopedic injuries that may have required surgery or an extended recovery time in the past. This cutting edge technology is known as Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy or PRP.
Below is a walk-through of PRP for our patient, Charlee Ann. This was her first of three PRP injections into her left coxofemoral (hip) joint. The goal for Charlee Ann was to avoid another surgery by using Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy to stimulate the body's natural healing process. Charlee Ann completed her PRP Therapy. Now, over a year later, she is still surgery free!
The purpose of an endoscopic procedure is to help us obtain a diagnosis of what may be causing your pet to have abdominal pain with vomiting and/or diarrhea that can result in weight loss and lack of appetite.
How does endoscopy helps us in diagnosing gastrointestinal disease?
Endoscopy uses a flexible fiber-optic instrument that gives us the ability to view the insides of the hollow organs such as the stomach and intestines. The procedure is performed through the mouth or rectum. While inspecting the hollow organs, we can see obvious lesions such as inflammation, swelling, areas of scarring or strictures and also obtain biopsies. The biopsies can be used for histopathological studies and can aid in the diagnosis of diseases of the GI tract, such as inflammatory bowel disease, parasites, neoplasia (cancer) and foreign bodies.
